Exchange Policy

Our Promise

At Maithilii, every saree and dupatta is individually hand-painted by a master artisan. Because each piece is one of a kind, we do not offer refunds — but we are committed to ensuring you love what you receive.

If something is not right, we will exchange it.

When You Can Request an Exchange

• The item you received is different from what was shown on the product page
• The item arrived with a manufacturing defect or damage caused during transit
• You received the wrong item

Exchange requests must be raised within 7 days of delivery. Requests raised after this window cannot be accepted.

Made-to-Order Items

All made-to-order and custom commission pieces are strictly non-exchangeable and non-refundable — no exceptions. Because these are created specifically for you, we cannot accept returns or exchanges of any kind.

If you are unsure whether your order is made-to-order, please confirm with us before placing it.

What Is Not Eligible

• All made-to-order and custom commission pieces — no exceptions
• Items that have been worn, washed, or altered in any way
• Items where the original tags have been removed
• Variation in colour tone due to screen calibration differences — hand-painted pieces will always carry slight natural variation
• Items purchased during a sale or with a promotional discount

How to Initiate an Exchange

• Email us at team@maithilii.com with your order number and reason for exchange
• Attach clear photographs of the item showing the issue
• We will respond within 2 business days to confirm eligibility
• Once approved, ship the item back to the address we provide — securely packed, with the original tags intact
• We will dispatch your replacement within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned item

International Customers

We currently ship within India only — international shipping is offered on a case-by-case basis by direct arrangement. If your order was dispatched abroad through such an arrangement and an exchange is required, please contact us first before returning anything. Both forward and return shipping costs and any customs duties on the replacement are the customer's responsibility.
